Some countries celebrate this day and another country and some countries celebrate this day while working. , Former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday (September 5) and The country’s first Vice-President, Dr. Radhakrishnan was born on 5 September 1888 in a Brahmin family in Tirumani village, Tamil Nadu.  They are celebrated as Teachers’ Day in India. He had indicated to his students his desire for his birthday to be observed as Teachers’ Day. Teacher’s Day is celebrated on different dates in more than 100 countries of the world. Indian people celebrate this day like a festival, all students participate in Teacher’s Day. They are prepared for the speech and their talent, dance, class teacher mimicry, cutting the cake, and students give gifts to the teacher.

 

 Why Indian Celebrated Happy Teachers Day 5 September 2023 ?

Since 1962, when Dr. Radhakrishnan was elected President of India, the country has celebrated its birth anniversary by honoring its professors and gurus on this day.

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a leading comparative religion and philosophy scholar in India during the twentieth century. He taught at numerous colleges in India and abroad, including Chennai’s Presidency College and Calcutta University. From 1931 to 1936, he was the Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University. Dr. Radhakrishnan was appointed Spalding Professor of Eastern Religions and Ethics at Oxford in 1936, a position he held for 16 years.

His intellectual foundation was Advaita Vedanta, which he revised for modern understanding. He vehemently defended Hinduism against misinformed Western criticism, considerably contributing to the modern knowledge and identity of Hinduism. Radhakrishnan was also seen as a bridge-builder between India and the West.

When Dr. Radhakrishnan became President of India in 1962, his birthday became known as Teachers’ Day. According to Dr. Radhakrishnan, “Teachers should be the best minds in the country,” and “A literary genius, it is said, resembles all, though no one resembles him.”

 Afghanistan October -Schools do not have a holiday, but students and teachers gather to celebrate at schools with special traditional food, cookies, music, and presents for the teachers.

Azerbaijan 5 October- Between 1965 and 1994, the first Sunday of October. Since 1994, on 5 October, it has coincided with World Teachers’ Day.

Armenia 5 October– Armenia previously celebrated Teacher’s Day on the first Sunday of October. Under a parliamentary decision to amend the law on the Republic of Armenia Holidays and Commemoration Days, the holiday was shifted to 5 October, which coincides with World Teachers’ Day.

 El Salvador 22 June- Teachers’ Day in El Salvador is observed as a national holiday.

Japan, China, Kuwait, America, South Africa, all countries celebrate like different date Happy Teachers Day.
